WEB Leaders

WEB

WEB, which stands for "Where Everybody Belongs", is a nationally recognized middle school orientation, transition, and mentoring program.  WEB involves 8th grade students being trained as leaders and mentors to help welcome and develop positive friendships with our new 5th grade students.  This mentoring relationship includes helping younger students learn skills that will help them be successful in their new environment.  Studies show that a positive first year experience in the middle school helps to increase students' chances of success in following years.  WEB also acts as an anti-bullying program by empowering student leaders to recognize negative behaviors, intervene, and report to help create a safe and welcoming school (Boomerang Project).

Students interested in becoming a WEB leader in their 8th-grade year will have the opportunity to apply after information sessions in the spring of their 7th-grade year.  We are looking for all types of leaders and would love for you to apply!

Contact Ms. Williams (julie.williams@isd728.org) or Mr. Malakowsky (matthew.malakowsky@isd728.org) for more information.
