To celebrate the upcoming winter break, we are having the following dress up days next week at RMS.  We hope your student will participate!

  • December 16: Wear holiday headwear and/or holiday socks
  • December 17: Wear red, green and sparkles
  • December 18: Wear matching holiday gear to celebrate National Twin Day
  • December 19: Wear holiday sweaters
  • December 20: Wear holiday pajamas

From the Attendance Office

We’ve noticed an increase in last minute student pick ups. Last minute pick ups should ONLY be for emergencies. Vacations, sports and scheduled appointments should be put in Campus Parent Portal ahead of time.  If an emergency appointment comes up during the day, please give us at least a 1-hour notice. Please see our website for directions on how to enter absences, late arrivals and early releases.

Parents should not be entering pickups for students not feeling well. If a student is not feeling well, please instruct them to visit the Health Office and together your student and health office staff will call you to make a plan for staying at school or getting picked up.  Students are aware of this process and should not be asking parents to have passes sent to the classroom for them so they can go home.

Cardboard Gingerbread House Contest

The Media Center is hosting its annual Cardboard Gingerbread House Contest this month! Students in grades 6-8 had the option to sign up for time to work on their houses during Royal Time for three weeks, starting in November. Students in ALL grades 5-8 can build houses at home and bring them into the Media Center by Tuesday, December 17th to be entered into the contest. Judging will take place on Wednesday, December 18th. See the official rules and entry form for more information. Students may also pick up the entry form in the Media Center.

6th Grade Band Concert - December 19

We will be holding our 6th Grade Winter Band Concert at the Rogers High School Performing Arts Center on December 19th.  Students need to arrive and be in their seats at 5:45 pm for a quick rehearsal.  Parents are asked to drop off their student and come back for the performance.  The doors will open at 6:45 pm and the concert will start at 7:00 pm.  Concert attire consists of our Band shirts, black pants (of any kind), and dark shoes.

Does Your Student Need Help in Science?

Starting in January, your student can receive extra help in science.  Help will be offered every Friday morning from 7:40-8:10 in room 440 - Mr. Barbeln's room.  Any student in grades 6-8 is welcome.  If your student arrives before the doors open, have your student tell the attendance office they are there for science help.

No School Reminder: December 23-January 1

Just a friendly reminder that students do not have school Monday, December 23 through Wednesday, January 1.  Have a fantastic winter break and we will see students back in the building on Thursday, January 2!
