Inventory is done by scanning each book into the system and watching for shelving or other system errors. It involves some standing and sitting while scanning. Volunteers should be detail-oriented to catch system alerts as they scan. Media Center staff will provide a quick training and will be available to answer any questions.
All volunteers must have an approved background check on file with the district. Please sign up below if you are interested in helping with this project. Thank you!

Campus Fees: Class Fees, Fines & Field Trips
Please check your student's fee tab on Campus Parent Portal to make sure you do not have any outstanding classroom or field trip fees for the 25-26 school year. Any fees that are not paid by the end of the school year will be sent to collections. If you need assistance or have any questions regarding fees, please contact Angie Grotte at 763-241-3550 x2707 or via email: angela.grotte@isd728.
Library Book Due Dates and Overdue Books
Here at RMS library books are only due once per month, always on the first Tuesday of each month when school is in session. Students are responsible for returning or renewing their books on time. They do receive several reminders via Schoology and the Morning Show leading up to monthly due dates, and students have many opportunities to renew and/or return books during the school day.
As middle schoolers, our communication about library books is primarily handled through the student. Weekly emails are sent to students if they have overdue library books so they should be checking their school emails regularly. When students have lost, damaged, or overdue library books, we expect them to communicate this information home to parents. Students may request we email home or they can call parents to inform them of any issues that need to be taken care of related to library books. Students may not check out any new library books until the overdue book is returned, renewed, or paid for if lost.
Books that are extremely overdue (one month or more overdue) will be considered lost and must be paid for. Students with lost or damaged book fees may not check out any new books until fees have been paid. Lost materials that are found within 30 days of payment will receive a full refund.
All lost book fees may be paid with cash in the RMS Media Center or via Campus Fees in Parent Portal.
