Hello middle school families! I am reaching out to provide you with some information about Rogers Royals Cheerleading tryouts for the 2024/25 school year.

Here are some important dates to put on your calendar if you have a student who is interested in trying out for one of our cheer teams:

Pre-Tryout Meeting - March 11 at RHS in room C101

  • 6:00pm for current 4th-7th graders
  • 7:00pm for current 8th-11th graders

This meeting is open to any prospective cheerleading candidate and their parents. We will go over what tryouts will look like and what it is like to be a member of the Rogers Cheer team, including program expectations. Anyone trying out should attend.

Open Gyms - March 13, 20, & 21, 7:00pm at RHS in the Den

  • Open gyms will be held prior to tryouts and are open to anyone interested in learning what goes into cheerleading and/or practicing their skills in preparation for tryouts. It will be mostly unstructured time to practice cheerleading skills, including jumps, tumbling, and some basic stunting. Coach Rowley will be in attendance for supervision.
  • Be sure to wear comfortable practice clothing that is not too big and baggy, as well as clean athletic/cheerleading shoes.

Tryouts - April 1, 2, and 4, 2024 at RHS in the Dance Studio

  • Tryouts run for three days and attendance is required for all three of the days if your student is trying out for the team. The first two days, candidates will learn the material and go over everything they need to know for tryouts. The third day will be the judging portion of tryouts. Team selections will then be made after tryouts conclude.
  • Students need to sign-up to try out. Please make sure you review the entirety of the Tryout Packet, which you can view on our website:

Sports Physical

  • Varsity candidates (those entering 9th next year) are highly encouraged to have a current sports physical on file with the activities office. Physicals can be hand delivered to the Activities Office ar RHS, or you may email a digital copy to
