March 2024

Just think, in 3 months your student(s) will be on summer vacation!  The school year is flying by and we are thankful for each day we see your student(s) at Rogers Middle School!  Thank you for supporting your student(s) and for taking a few minutes to read about updates at our school!  Don't forget to 'spring ahead' this weekend!

Scholastic Book Fair Volunteers Needed: March 11-20

The Scholastic book fair is next week and we are in need of a few more volunteers for preview and purchase days.  If you are able, please sign up for a volunteer shift here: 2024 Spring RMS Book Fair Volunteers - Sign Up.  All volunteers need to have an approved background check on file with the district before volunteering.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Conference Donations - March 14

Conferences are quickly approaching next week on March 14!  Would you be willing to help provide dinner for our amazing teachers during their 3-3:45 PM break on Thursday? We are thinking of ordering pizza or sandwiches (if there are any leftover funds, those will be used for Staff Appreciation Week in May).

If you wish to donate, please sign up  here and drop off donations to Ann Hedlund (in the Attendance Office) or Angie Grotte (in the Administration Office) on Monday, March 11 - Tuesday, March 12. If you are dropping off cash, please put it in an envelope labeled with "Conference Dinner Donation."  If other arrangements are needed, please email  anne.anderson@isd728.org. Thank you for your donations and for showing our RMS staff members how much we appreciate them!

Winter Gear Donations

We are looking for winter gear (that is in good condition) for our 5th grade students to utilize for the skiing field trip and outside recess for next school year. We are in need of snow pants, boots, hats, gloves and jackets.  If you have anything you wish to donate, please drop it in the Winter Gear Donation bin at the front attendance office or the bin outside of the Administration Office.  Thank you!

Chromebooks, Headphones/Wired Earbuds & Pencils

From the Health Office

Hi Families!

We are still in the thick of the flu season! We are seeing many students sick with stomach bugs and strep throat type illnesses. If your student is sick, please ensure they are staying home to help protect everyone here. Our school policy recommends that if a student has a fever of 100.4 degrees or more, that they stay home for 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal without fever reducing medicine. If a student has vomited or has diarrhea, they need to stay home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhea. Please click on the following link to find more district requirements and information. You can also reach out to our school nurse with any questions!

Partnership with Every Meal

We are partnering with Every Meal (formerly The Sheridan Story) to offer a free bag of food to our families every weekend. All students qualify for this food program. If you had previously been receiving these bags and would like to continue, you will need to fill out the form (families have to sign up each year). Please use this link to register:  Every Meal Sign Up Form. To ensure your application is processed in a timely manner, please sign your student up with their assigned school. This program is completely free and your family's privacy is protected.

Please contact Angie Grotte with any questions,  angela.grotte@ isd728.org.
