Picture Retake Day: Tuesday, September 30

If your student had their picture taken at RMS on September 4, you will receive an email from Kemmetmueller Photography in the near future on how to view these photos.

Picture retake day is Tuesday, September 30 and students will be called down alphabetically by last name to the front entryway area if they were absent or wish to have their picture retaken.

1st Quarter Pass Page Buyback Volunteers Needed

If a student uses 3 or less of their 18 quarterly passes, they will have the opportunity to turn the remaining ones in for a "pass page buyback" event that will be held on Friday, October 31.  Students will spin a wheel to see what prize they've won. If you are interested in donating any items or volunteering for this event, please sign up below.  Thank you!

Did Your Student Forget Something at Home?

Forgotten binders, chromebooks, lunches etc… can be dropped off at a cart in the reception area. Your child will be responsible for picking these items up during passing time or lunch.

Please Label Your Student's Belongings

Many items end up in our lost and found area (and will eventually be donated to CROSS if they are not claimed).  Please label the following items with your student's first and last name so these items can be returned to the rightful owner if found.  Thank you!

  • Water Bottle
  • Lunch Box
  • Binder
  • Headphones

Notes from the Health Office

Welcome to a new school year! We hope your student is off to a healthy and successful start. The Health Office would like to share a few important reminders:

  • Health Conditions & Concerns: If your student has any medical conditions, health concerns, or updates to their health history, please inform the Health Office as soon as possible. This helps us provide the best care during the school day. Additional information can be found on the District Website.

  • Immunization Compliance: We are currently reviewing student records to ensure all immunizations are up to date and compliant with state requirements. If we are missing documentation for your student, you will be contacted directly.

  • Extra Clothing: Please ensure your student has a change of clothes in their locker. Accidents, spills, and unexpected messes happen, and having an extra set of clothes available helps your student stay comfortable and in class.

  • Medication Policy Reminder: Students should not keep any medications in their lockers, backpacks, or on their person — this includes over-the-counter items like Tylenol. All medications must be stored and administered through the Health Office with the appropriate documentation. If your student needs items like this at school, please reach out and we can make arrangements.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community healthy and safe!

Therapy Dog at RMS

We are excited to share with you that there will be a therapy dog in our school assisting students throughout the school year. A therapy animal is most commonly a dog (but can be other species) that are certified or registered and have been obedience trained and screened for their ability to interact favorably with humans and other animals.

The primary role of a therapy animal is to complement more traditional modes of treatment or therapy through comforting, supportive, calming and engaging interactions. Because therapy animals have not been trained to perform a specific job, task or duty due to an individual's disability, they do not qualify as a service animal under the ADA (Americans with Disability Act).

RMS Mental Health Telehealth Appointment Information

RMS will be using the Office Conference Room, when available, between the hours of 8:45am - 2:30pm for students to complete a virtual mental health appointment with their provider.

  • Families must fill out the following form: Telehealth Form

    • Once the Google form is completed and submitted, RMS will confirm with families if we are able to accommodate the virtual appointment. Appointments will be honored as space is available.

  • Only virtual mental health appointments are authorized to participate in this program.

  • Families must provide a Release of Information to the school for the provider that will be virtually meeting with the student.

Partnership with Every Meal

We are partnering with Every Meal to offer a free bag of food to our families every weekend. All students qualify for this food program. If you had previously been receiving these bags and would like to continue, you will need to fill out the form (families have to sign up each year). Please use this link to register: Every Meal Sign Up Form To ensure your application is processed in a timely manner, please sign your student up with their assigned school. This program is completely free and your family's privacy is protected.

Please contact Bridget Anderson with any questions, bridget.anderson@isd728.org.
